With my VIP pass and a map of the event, we were ready to go! Our first stop was Roots to eat some Purdy's chocolates and also to pick up our wristbands for the Dragonette show that was happening there later that evening. In typical Roots fashion, they were made out of leather and embroidered with the band's name on them. How cool is that?
Our next stop was at Town Shoes, where they were celebrating their 60th Anniversary. It was one of the most packed stores that night. They had a wheel to spin to win prizes (as seen above), lots of wine and snacks, and a dj. Bourjois Makeup was there to apply false eyelashes for anyone who wanted them, and Rent. Frock. Repeat was upstairs holding photoshoots where you could get your makeup done, put on one of their dresses and have a full on shoot.
After that, we dropped into Holt Renfrew, where there was a lot going on! We did some shopping, met Dragonette and drank pink lemonade.
While we were shopping we met one of Holts' interns, whose outfit was so amazing, I just had to post it! I pretty much ran over to her to ask her where she got her pants and sweater. Also, throughout all the stores that were participating in STYD, they had places where you could get your "passport" stamped. I didn't know about this until it was too late (thanks to Tara for informing me!), but if you got 8 stamps, you could win all kinds of amazing prizes from the various stores.
When we continued shopping, my eye definitely lingered on the Victoria, Victoria Beckham pieces at the store. That black dress is so perfect for the upcoming holiday season... I'll probably be going back for it sometime soon. Ultimately, though, I left with the burgundy peplum top shown above. I'm obsessed with burgundy for fall (can you tell by my lip colour?), and the price point on this top was too good to pass up. Believe it or not, it's from Holt Renfrew's in house line! Also above are some stylish girls I had the pleasure of spending time with at Holts.
As the night was winding down, we dropped into BCBG where they were doing free hair and makeup applications and where CityTV was giving out free cupcakes. I didn't partake, but from all accounts, they were the best cupcakes you've ever tasted. After that, we went to the Gap to play with the Popchips photobooth and then to Pink Tartan to check out their amazing fall line. I'm obsessed with the mod inspired pieces!
At the end of the night, we went to Roots to see Dragonette perform. They were soo amazing - just as good live as they are in recordings. We stayed their for a little while before heading to the after party at La Societe, where Ann Taylor generously provided drinks for STYD attendees. We ate dinner and talked all about the night. It was absolutely fantastic and I can't wait until next year!
